Join the Climb to End Pancreatic Cancer
— by Everclimb LLC —
This coming January 2026, Everclimb will launch the National Climbing for Pancreatic Cancer Coalition (NCPCC) — a movement uniting climbers, gyms, and outdoor communities across the country to raise awareness and support for Pancreatic Cancer through the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN).
Pancreatic cancer claims the lives of nearly 50,000 Americans every year. With a five-year survival rate of just 10%, it remains one of the world’s deadliest major cancers. Through climbing, community, and shared purpose, we believe we can help change that.
Why We Climb
Everclimb founder John Cooper knows firsthand the physical and emotional toll of pancreatic disease. After surviving a life-threatening medical emergency and undergoing a Whipple surgery, John turned his recovery into a mission — using climbing as both a symbol and a tool for hope.
His experience inspired the creation of the NCPCC — not to center one story, but to invite everyone’s story into the climb for awareness, strength, and perseverance.
John says, “Climbing became my way of fighting back, a way to rebuild strength, renew purpose, and find hope again — one deliberate move at a time. It’s not just about the mountain in front of you — it’s about what you overcome inside.”
That journey led to the creation of the NCPCC, built on Everclimb’s core values: Equip, Endure, Excel.
• Equip yourself with courage and faith.
• Endure through uncertainty and challenge.
• Excel in hope — not just for yourself, but for others still facing their climb.
“Climbing helped me heal,” John says. “It reminded me that progress isn’t measured by speed — it’s measured by faith and the will to keep moving.”
Together, We Climb for Hope
Everclimb’s vision is simple: to transform passion for climbing into a force for good. Through the National Climbing for Pancreatic Cancer Coalition, every climb matters. Whether you’re bouldering in your local gym, leading a trad route, or standing on a summit — dedicate your climb to someone affected by pancreatic cancer and help raise awareness.
We’re building a community that reaches higher — for awareness, for hope, and for a cure. Join us for the climb, and help turn every route, pitch, and summit into progress. To donate directly to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, visit https://pancan.org/donate
